The
first LBW decision ever in an Indoor Cricket World Cup match
New Zealand
umpire Nepia Stewart adjudged Asela (Sri Lanka Men) out LBW against
New Zealand yesterday--and I just happened to have my camera pointing
at the action (photo included in both the New Zealand Men and Sri Lanka
Men's photoCDs). It is believed to be the first ever LBW decision given
in any Indoor Cricket World Cup match. The bowler was Guy Coleman.
Third
partnership of 44 rescues Sri Lankan Men
After
struggling in the first 8 overs, Sri Lanka's 3rd pair put on a fine
44 to help their team to a competitive total. After 8 overs the England
Men had restricted the Sri Lankans to just 14 runs, and they were in
deep trouble.

New
Zealand Men destroy the Australian batting line-up.
With some
outstanding bowling and absolutely sensational fielding, the New Zealand
Men totally dominated the Australian batsmen.
With skins of 19, 0, 18 and -11, Australia could only manage an alltime
low total of 26.
New Zealand begin their innings knowing they are on the verge of the
most historic game in Mens World Cup history. They will also win a place
in the Grand Final is they do as the large, vocal crowd present expect
and win the game.

performance against Australia. The scoreboard shows Australia's lowest
ever World Cup score of 26.
New
Zealand defeat Australia!!!
In absolute ripper of a game,
New Zealand Men have defeated the Australians. This is the Australian
Men's first ever
loss in a World Cup match, and it means New Zealand are straight through
to the Grand Final. Australia will now have to win through the semis
if they want the chance for a rematch in the Grand Final.

Indian
Women continue to show improvement
India
played Australia and then Sri Lanka today, and it was particularly noiceable
that they have already gained enormously from the competition and coaching
they have received here.

New Zealand and India Women after their game against
each other.
Remembering that yesterday they took 2 wickets when bowling to New Zealand,
today they took 3 against the Australians, then another 3 against the
Sri Lankans.
But it was in their fielding and batting that the improvement was most
visible--they are beginning to look like an indoor cricket team, not
just a team of cricketers playing indoors.
